With nearly 5,000 votes, there's no question Southbay magazine's readers love their dogs!

After hundreds of entries, we narrowed the pack to our top 30 favorite images and then turned the voting over to you. Eagerly we watched the dog owner's edge out their competition in some extremely close races but ultimately only one dog can be crowned the winner…

Congratulations to Enzo, the South Bay's Top Dog!

Breed:  West Highland White Terrier, aka “Westie”
Age: 6
Hometown:  Manhattan Beach
Proud Owners: Jenny Turnbull and Ryan Malizio

According to owners Jenny and Ryan, “Westies don’t have owners; they have staff.” In addition to his new “Top Dog” title, Enzo is president of Pawsh Pooch Playclub and looks forward to his monthly meet-ups with his favorite furry friends. But it’s the Manhattan Beach Pier that truly makes his day. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy the ocean view and smells, people watch and dream of a day where there is a small section of sand approved for pooches. Congrats, Enzo!

Check out Enzo and our top nine finalists in the September issue of Southbay magazine available on finer newsstands September 5.

From Market to Menu

A close friend of mine recently revealed that she is a committed locavore. As I am a new mom the second time around these days, I wondered if the sleep deprivation had kicked in with a vengeance. Locavore? Was that some kind of mentally ill person of Hispanic descent who consumes both meat and vegetables? (Yes, that’s where my brain goes.)

Exceptional Kids PTO Fundraiser

Friends of the Exceptional Kids Parent Teacher Organization gathered at the local comedy venue for an evening of dinner, drinks, auctions and plenty of laughter. All proceeds from the event provide social and educational enrichment to physically and mentally disabled youth throughout the South Bay.
