New mothers already have one of the hardest jobs around, so chances are you don’t even know where to begin getting your body back. Here are four ways to get S.E.X.Y. (Sleep, Eat, eXercise, You) after pregnancy.

1. Sleep. New moms don’t get much of it, but we need it. Lack of sleep increases stress levels and can make it difficult to drop the baby weight. I try to sleep when my baby sleeps, so I get a little at a time.
2. Eat. It is so important to fuel your body with clean and healthy meals—especially when breastfeeding. Plan ahead: grocery shop for the week, schedule delivery boxes of fresh fruits and veggies, and recruit friends and family to help with cooking.
3. Exercise. You may not feel you have time, but the benefits of exercise are well worth making the time. Exercise improves sleep quality, boosts metabolism, releases endorphins, relieves stress and aids in the recovery of lost muscle tone. Pilates is one of the best ways to get in shape before, during and after pregnancy, as it conditions weakened abdominal muscles and strengthens your pelvic floor.
4. You. Make time for you. You want to be the best mom you can be, and in order to do that, you need to schedule time for yourself. Start by committing to three classes a week. Working out is one of the best ways to clear your mind.
