Go Red for Women Wellness Retreat & Luncheon
April 3 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Every 80 seconds, one woman dies of cardiovascular disease. But there is good news: 80 percent of these diseases can be prevented with awareness and action. Women will learn and experience ways to take charge of their heart and brain health at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Wellness Retreat and Luncheon scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2020, at westdrift Manhattan Beach.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a wellness retreat that includes fitness sessions, healthy cooking demonstrations, health panels featuring local medical experts, and networking opportunities. A luncheon follows at 12:15 p.m. where guests gather around the table for a heart-healthy meal and to hear inspiring survivor stories.
Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, claiming more women’s lives than all forms of cancer combined. Proceeds from Go Red for Women events support the American Heart Association’s efforts to improve heart and brain health, reduce deaths from cardiovascular diseases and ensure equitable health for all by funding innovative research, addressing socioeconomic barriers that make it difficult for many people to achieve health, bringing health education programs to women and their families, setting science-based best practices for treating heart disease and stroke, and advocating for policies that positively impact cardiovascular health.
Go Red for Women is sponsored nationally by CVS Health. Keck Medicine of USC is the presenting sponsor and Adriana’s Insurance/RISE Programs is the leading sponsor. Additional supporters include UCLA Health, Northrup Grumman, Beach Cities Health District, Chevron and Southern California Safety Institute.
