What would you like potential patients to know about you?

“Our mission is to provide excellent, personalized cancer treatment to our patients in a warm, caring and supportive environment. We work collaboratively with our patients, their families and their physicians to develop individualized treatment plans. We feel that this approach ensures the safest cancer treatments and the best outcomes for our patients.”

What are your areas of specialty?

“We have broad clinical experience in treating cancers of the prostate, breast, lung, central nervous system, gastrointestinal system, gynecologic system and head and neck region. We are experts in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy and permanent seed prostate brachytherapy.”

What’s one trend that is defining radiation therapy today?

“At our center we utilize highly sophisticated radiation therapy techniques that enable us to focus the radiation dose on the tumor while sparing the adjacent normal tissues. These technologies permit us to deliver radiation therapy with a high level of precision and safety.

Tell us about your families.

“A native of Oregon, Dr. Khan resides in the South Bay. Dr. Schiffner is from the San Francisco area and resides in Marina del Rey. We both enjoy spending time with our wives and young children, when we are not at work.”
