The vision of Jake Dax and Angela Dax, franchise owners of Dax & Associates in Hermosa Beach, is to be the most well-respected, trusted, valued and sought-after financial planning firm in the South Bay. The company, a franchise under the Ameriprise Financial brand, helps clients develop a customized financial plan based on their personal and family goals.

What would you like potential clients to know about you?

“We are a boutique financial planning practice with four advisors, all with more than 10 years of experience each. We work hard to understand clients’ financial situations not only by the numbers but also based on the three Es which shape how people think about money: Environment, Education and Experiences.”

Who is your typical client?

“Busy and successful families in the South Bay who live active lives and have many competing priorities. We help by taking the financial planning piece off their plate, providing our clients with the confidence that their financial affairs are being managed and planned for. We specialize in helping busy and successful women who are primary financial earners or decision-makers.”

“We love what we do because we know we help clients make better financial decisions so they can focus on what is really important to them
and their families.”

What’s one trend that is defining the financial industry today?

“Based on what happened in our industry over the past five years and the amount of turnover in the advisor force, there are fewer advisors trying to manage more client accounts than ever before. For those looking for quality financial planning and advice, Dax & Associates is an experienced team in their local community.”

What’s the most common mistake people make with their money?

“Too often people spend too much on things they may want but do not need, or they let funds accumulate in cash and thus lose due to inflation. Sometimes people listen to advice from someone with the new best idea to get rich. This tends to cause more anxiety than prosperity.”

Give us your opinion on today’s economy and how it impacts your customers.

“We help clients take the emotion out of investing and assess their situation logically to make the best decisions with what factual information is available, thus getting the best result.”
