The son of sailors, South Bay resident Cameron Riddell grew up on boats, spending much of his youth sailing the Greek isles and European waterways as well as San Francisco Bay. Eros, a yacht of fascinating provenance that had just completed a massive museum-quality restoration, has a colorful history. Built in 1939 in England, she was commandeered for the historical evacuation at Dunkirk—only later to become the private yacht of Greek billionaire Stavros Niarchos.
