Harris Financial Advisors,  a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), is celebrating 21 years as an independent wealth management firm serving high net worth individuals and families. As fee-based advisors (no commissions), we design, manage and monitor investment portfolios to meet our client’s unique requirements. In addition, we develop written financial plans. The plans illuminate the optimal financial choices while providing motivation to take action. As a team, we represent more than 100 years of industry experience. Many of our client family relationships are now in the third generation.

Who is your typical client?

“Affluent families busy with careers or enjoying retirement depend on us as their go-to advisor to successfully manage their investment portfolio and tackle critical financial issues. These issues often include retirement income planning and minimizing the impact of income and estate taxes. In addition, we offer special services for ‘women in transition.’ We are a caring advocate and guide for a woman facing the death of a loved one, sudden inheritance or divorce. We provide financial education, which in turn builds financial confidence. This confidence empowers women to make sound financial decisions to achieve their life goals.”

What’s one trend that is defining the financial industry today?

“The growing awareness among the investing public of the importance of working with an advisor who is a fiduciary, which we are. A fiduciary legally places your interests above all others; this is in contrast to working with a product-selling organization. Learn more at riastandsforyou.com.”

"Affluent families busy with careers or enjoying retirement depend on us as their go-to advisor to successfully manage their investment portfolio and tackle critical financial issues.”

What’s the biggest challenge facing your clients today?

“Even though our clients’ portfolios have more than recovered from the financial crisis, the emotional wounds take longer to heal. Our disciplined asset allocation investment approach and attention to other important financial circumstances such as tax and estate strategies help to focus our clients on the larger long-term picture.”

What’s the biggest benefit your clients gain from working with you?

“Our clients have direct, personal access to all professionals working on their behalf at Harris Financial. Our advisors, who develop customized investment and planning strategies, are not on an 800-line in Boston or New York, but sit at the table with clients right here in the South Bay.”

Modern Instincts

A booming real estate market for Southern California weekenders, Palm Springs welcomes a show house with an appropriate mid-century flavor.

The Great Race

“Luxury is man-made,” says Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, patriarch of the Chopard family business.

In Scheufele’s case, you could also say “self-made,” as he is primarily responsible for Chopard’s magnificent global presence. Acquiring the 100-year-old company from Paul-André Chopard in the 1960s, the young German goldsmith and watchmaker modernized the business, making the brand one of the most prestigious luxury names in the world. A completely independent, family-run business, with his two children, Karl-Friedrich and Caroline, as co-presidents, Chopard never ceases to amaze with extraordinary timepieces and exquisite jewelry, all crafted with priceless care and exceptional attention to detail.

Here at Moon Tide Media, we are fortunate enough to be a stone’s throw from the beach, right on 11th Street just next door to the Hermosa Beach Pier. But it’s the neighboring Pier that has been a fixture of Hermosa Beach life for over 100 years.
