Many client relationships are now in the third generation. HFA is a fee-based advisory firm whose services include portfolio management, personalized financial plans, education planning, retirement planning, estate planning and implementation of charitable giving strategies. President/owner Mary Harris and her team of financial professionals hold the most rigorous and respected industry designations, including Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant.

Who is your typical client?

“An affluent family busy with careers or enjoying retirement. They depend on us as their go-to advisor to successfully manage their investment portfolio and tackle critical financial issues such as retirement income planning, education funding for children and grandchildren and minimizing the impact of income and estate taxes. In addition, we offer special services for women facing the death of a loved one, sudden inheritance, a mid-life career change or divorce. We provide financial education, which in turn builds financial confidence that empowers women to make sound financial decisions to achieve lifetime goals.”

What would you like potential clients to know about you?

“Each client benefits from the best thinking of a team of financial professionals at HFA. We build on the wisdom earned through advising generations of successful individuals and families. Once a clients’ investment plan is in place, we coordinate our services with their other advisors, including their attorney and accountant, and implement strategies for the accumulation, protection and ultimate transference of wealth. Our recommendations are designed to accommodate the changing needs of our clients as well as the ever-changing markets and tax environment.”

What is the biggest challenge facing your clients today?

“Information overload and the day-to-day barrage of the media can produce ongoing anxiety and leave clients feeling overwhelmed. We work with clients to sort out the truth from the hype. HFA has an indepth understanding of our clients’ goals, values and life experiences. We help clients follow a disciplined investment strategy that responds to changing market conditions while reducing emotional reactions to short-term events. Our written financial plans serve as a client’s lifelong roadmap, guiding them through the noise and helping them to achieve their goals. Ultimately, this brings long-term peace of mind.”
