Started as an experiment with technology, design and handwork, CraftedSystems produces art using specially-cut felt pieces with an eye toward community building. Working in collaboration with the YWCA women’s shelter and p:ear, an organization for homeless youth, artisans learn to skillfully weave eco-wool felt pieces to create wall art, vessels and more. These beautiful, tangible and often therapeutic pieces have been coined “healing handwork,” providing income to people in challenging circumstances.
