Rarely do the most coveted components of the perfect getaway assemble effortlessly in one exceptional resort. The St. Regis Monarch Beach not only succeeds in this mission, it exceeds even the most seasoned traveler’s expectations.

A California Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond Resort, the St. Regis Monarch Beach sits on 172 acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a convenient escape for South Bay residents in need of a well-deserved weekend of luxury. In addition to a warm and romantic, Tuscan-inspired ambiance, first-class dining, award-winning spa and on-site golf course, the St. Regis brand of hospitality truly sets this resort apart. With a host of personalized services and amenities, nightly turndown service and the legendary St. Regis Butler service, your travel needs and preferences are the resort’s #1 priority.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS

Of the St. Regis Monarch Beach’s 400 guest rooms and suites, the majority overlook the Pacific Ocean. Even the smallest room cannot be considered petite with a generous 535 square feet of living space. On the other side of the spectrum, the Royal and Monarch Suites each boast 1,500 square feet, and the two Presidential Suites offer a spacious 3,100 square feet. All Suite accommodations, no matter the size, come with St. Regis Butler service, a discreet but attentive amenity aimed at making your stay a memorable one. In addition, guests will find high-speed internet access, a CD/DVD audio system and library, 42-inch LG LCD television, spacious balconies with seating, Fili D’oro linens, marble bathrooms, plush robes and bath products courtesy of Laboratoire Remède. The resort is also pet-friendly, so skip the kennel and bring your treasured pet along for the adventure.

FINE DINING

The star of the St. Regis Monarch Beach is Stonehill Tavern, a modern venue of American cuisine by Chef Michael Mina. The celebrated chef teamed up with New York-based designer Tony Chi to create a dining venue of elegance, warmth and exquisite taste. Rooted in traditional tavern style but with a decidedly contemporary twist on the classic, the restaurant is a journey for the senses.

The food can only be called exceptional. Feast on seasonal offerings and tavern staples, like Maine lobster potpie or the Stonehill burger with black truffle cheese, and polish the meal off with Mina’s famous root beer float and fresh-from-the-oven cookies. Stonehill Tavern also features a full bar and a fine selection of domestic and international wines.

More casual dining and beverage options on the property include Motif, a European-style café and ideal breakfast stop, the Poolside Bar & Grill, Club 19 Grill & Bar at the golf clubhouse, Monarch Bay Club Restaurant and Bar, Crust Gourmet Shop & Espresso Bar, and of course, delicious in-room dining.

SPA GAUCIN

St. Regis Monarch Beach’s premier spa, Spa Gaucin, holds the distinction of being one of the world’s only Forbes Five-Star Spas. Named after an old-world village in Spain, the 30,000-square-foot, full-service spa delivers a relaxing and rewarding spa experience in a beautiful Mediterranean setting.

After unwinding in the ladies’ or gentlemen’s tranquility lounge, guests may indulge in an assortment of outstanding treatments, including the signature Swedish Massage, with vitamin and antioxidant rich essential oils, and the Thai Poultice Massage, which uses Thai massage movement to release tension and a poultice to enhance the treatment through the use of heat and subtle fragrance. Beyond the walls of the treatment rooms, visitors may also enjoy the fitness center, the 25-yard, three-lane lap pool with underwater sound system, and a full-service Salon and Spa Boutique. The Movement Studio offers yoga, Pilates, private instruction and group classes daily.

MONARCH BEACH GOLF LINKS & ACTIVITIES

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the 18-hole, on-site golf course dazzles with panoramic views, award-winning golf shop and exclusive clubhouse and restaurant. The par-70, championship course in the Scottish Links tradition welcomes both the experienced and novice player for a leisurely match on the green.

Down on the private beachfront, “Surf Butlers” will provide personalized surfing lessons for board enthusiasts. Guests also have access to the Tennis Club, offering eight hard courts and three heated swimming pools that are open year-round.

Guests who book the Drive, Stay and Play package will receive complimentary valet parking and breakfast for two in Motif or through in-room dining. Rates for the Drive, Stay and Play package start at $465 per night and are subject to availability at the time of booking.
