Hello, Santa. Assume you’re keeping busy for the holidays?
Santa Claus: Yes, very busy. Everyone at the North Pole is working hard to make this a wonderful Christmas.
I hear you prefer a Mercedes convertible to a sleigh when cruising the South Bay. Any particular reason?
SC: Well, I’m afraid seeing reindeer fly by could cause an even bigger mess on the 405.
If you could trade real estate in the North Pole for sunny California, would you and the Mrs. make the move?
SC: It’s a great place to visit, but everyone in the North Pole is like family, and I couldn’t possibly leave them.
What do you love most about your job?
SC: I do love the cookies and milk. Ho, Ho, Ho! However, giving presents and seeing happy faces on all the children is the most rewarding.
You get your picture taken more than the average celebrity. What’s your secret to staying so photogenic?
SC: Rosy cheeks and a happy smile. And I love what I do!
If you could pick one cookie to go with your complimentary milk this year, what would it be?
SC: There is no question there … chocolate chip.
In addition to many parade and mall appearances this holiday season, Santa will be at the Gum Tree in Hermosa Beach on Thursday, December 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, December 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Be sure to swing by for a photo op and help raise funds for the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation.
