Realtors and husband-and-wife team Dave and Jen Caskey consider themselves not only finer home specialists but also experts on the South Bay. They’ve lived and worked here for more than 30 years, so they know a thing or two about the area. In fact, Jen grew up in Manhattan Beach and they are now raising their three sons in the same Beach City.

Jen and Dave founded Caskey & Caskey and Associates in 1991 to focus on the luxury home market in and around the South Bay. Today they specialize in both residential and commercial properties. The Caskey & Caskey team is consistently a top producer in the South Bay and has received numerous recognitions and awards, including those from The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Business Journal and Los Angelesmagazine.
“We enjoy helping our clients find their perfect place to live and work in the South Bay,” says Dave, who spent his childhood in Orange County and graduated from the University of Southern California with a master’s degree in real estate finance. Jen graduated from USC as well, with a bachelor’s degree in communications. As a child she watched and learned the real estate business from her mom, who was also a local Realtor.
“I love living and working in my hometown,” Jen says. “Because I grew up here, I have unparalleled knowledge of the area—including all of the Beach Cities—which benefits our clients. We have seen incredible growth here, yet it retains the charm that draws clients to this area.”
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Their clients appreciate the fact that Dave and Jen work as a team—both bringing unique qualities to the table. Along with their agents and support staff, the Caskeys address each client’s needs from the first meeting to the closing of a purchase. “After all of these years in this business, there is nothing we can’t handle!” says Dave.
“We like people, and this is a great people- person industry!” adds Jen. “We believe in personalized service for each and every one of our clients and are pleased to say we have one of the highest repeat client rates in our industry.”
Their associates and staff find Caskey & Caskey a wonderful place to work. “Everyone is extremely supportive of each other, learning and having fun together as well,” Jen explains.
As the pandemic swept the nation last year, they banded together and worked right through the crisis. “The protocols were always changing,” Dave shares, “and it took a lot of flexibility and patience, but our entire team dug their heels in and showed up!”
The New Normal
Jen and Dave see new trends due to the pandemic, and they are embracing the necessary changes to help their clients succeed now more than ever before with their real estate goals. “People are living and working from home, which means that they have really prioritized what they need and how they best live in their spaces,” says Jen.
The couple anticipates mortgage rates will stay low for at least the first half of 2021, and the housing market will remain strong for quite some time. This is encouraging to potential buyers as well as sellers.
To make their clients’ real estate journeys as simple and safe as possible during this time, Caskey & Caskey offers virtual open houses and 3-D home tours. “3-D tours make it super easy for anyone to tour homes from anywhere in the world,” Dave says, “which opens up a whole new market and clientele for businesses like ours.” Clients are even opting to purchase vacation homes in other areas during the pandemic, so they can safely get away to a place they love without restrictions.
No Place Like Home
For the Caskeys, there’s no place they’d rather be than their beautiful hometown of Manhattan Beach. “We are beach people and love spending time on the sand and in the water—surfing and paddling—with our family and friends,” shares Dave.
“Time with our three boys at the beach and in town are some of our favorite ways to relax and unwind,” adds Jen. “We both enjoy early morning beach walks and late afternoon apps on our favorite patios downtown. We also love The Strand, local volleyball games and the wonderful traditions—like the holiday fireworks show and Hometown Fair—that our town offers every year.”
Even many of the charities they choose to support are local. Currently, Caskey & Caskey and Associates proudly sponsors more than 40 local nonprofit organizations, including The Richstone Center and a kids’ baseball team.
