Describe the project.

We had the pleasure of designing our client’s beachfront home in Hermosa Beach. He requested a comfortable, casual design that incorporates natural textures and stone. We used a contemporary coastal palette of stone, white-oak wood floors and bright white walls. The main living space is cozy with a fireplace, coffered ceiling and panoramic ocean views complemented by natural elements: an antique elmwood sofa table, iron mirrors and hammered copper lamp. Beautiful, unique textiles were used in various corners of the home, from custom pillows to woven rugs. The wood surfboard is a custom piece created by a local shaper, and the painting above the seating area is a one-of-a-kind, ink-and-gouache drawing that ties together the contemporary elements of the home. The velvet swivel chairs are a standout, luxurious touch.

Maison Luxe is a full-service interior design firm and gift store in Hermosa Beach. We have served our South Bay clients for nearly 20 years. We offer complete design services from styling, staging and remodels to new construction. What sets us apart is our retail store, where clients enjoy our fabric library, sit on our furniture and upholstery, and purchase home accessories—from candles to throws. What outdoor elements are popular?

Our customers are loving our outdoor rugs and fabrics for the exterior spaces of their homes. We have a great selection of rugs that come in many styles, shapes and prints and are a great outdoor accessory. Our vendors are consistently creating great outdoor fabrics that are versatile and loved by clients.

What are some accessories you’re leaning toward this year?

We love the accessories for sale in our store. One of our specialties is faux plants—perfect for brightening up a space. They pair perfectly with our wide selection of planters. We have faux branches that can be added to any room to spruce up the area while being low maintenance and bringing outdoor elements inside a home.     

We have lots of organic wood bowls and planters that are great to add a natural aesthetic. We also carry a wide range of simple but stunning glass vases, which add a touch of contemporary to any home. There are so many great options that fit everyone’s taste. Our store also has handmade and organic pillows—a must for any home to give it a cozy, unique feel.     

While we have accessories for the home, we also offer stunning accessories for ourselves. We carry Julie Vos jewelry, made of imported semiprecious stones, handset in 24k gold plate over nickel-free brass and sealed to prevent tarnish.
