Mike Harper and Peter Hazdovac met while playing basketball in a local men’s league. Mike mentored Peter once he began his career in real estate, and they realized they worked well together. In 2018 they formed the Harper|Hazdovac Real Estate Team, which specializes in residential, multifamily and commercial investment sales in the South Bay. Mike has worked full time in the real estate industry since 2005, and Peter began in 2012. Together they bring a diverse background of experiences to the table. 

What is your history in the area?

“We were both born and raised in San Pedro. Our business has been focused in San Pedro and Palos Verdes due to our involvement and deep connection to the community. We love that San Pedro is a melting pot with generations of family ties. With the Los Angeles Waterfront development taking shape, we meet many new people from other areas moving into San Pedro and surrounding cities on the Peninsula. We see ourselves as local ambassadors and huge advocates of the beautiful coastline, ocean views, great neighborhoods and opportunities this area offers.”

Tell us about your team.  

“We work under the Keller Williams umbrella and are affiliated with two offices: Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes. With a satellite office in San Pedro, our involvement in both offices has provided a unique opportunity to effectively service clients on the Peninsula while having the ability to meet, market to and network with more than 400 agents in both offices.   

Our team works well due to our age difference, experiences, ties to the local community, different marketing approaches and vast network. We are both keenly aware that we are in the service industry and share a passion for giving top-level service to our clients with the ability to offer creative solutions to the many challenges that often arise in a transaction. We believe our team approach allows our clients the benefit of different perspectives, opinions and angles to all aspects of a transaction. Since forming our team four years ago, we have increased our client base and sales volume each year.”

What do you love most about your job? 

“The relationships and friends we have developed in this industry. Our primary goal is to have our clients walk away feeling like we are stand-up guys who handled their transactions with professionalism and integrity. Along the way, we have made great friendships, which translates to more than 80% of our business coming from past clients and referrals.”
