    Women of the South Bay

Second-generation South Bay Realtor® Nicole Odom-Reis was raised in the real estate world by her mom, Karen Odom, who guided Nicole on the path to a real estate career from the time she was a young girl. Nicole attended UCLA and was an All-American shortstop and National Champion softball player. She married a professional soccer player, whose career relocated the couple to Boston. She worked in banking for a few years before staying home to raise her three sons. Nicole got her real estate license in 2017 and joined Compass in 2018.

What does success mean to you?

In this business, success is when your client is happy. I pride myself on running a referral-based business, and like anything in life, when you do a good job for others it always comes back to you.

Have you had mentors who influenced your career?

I love this question. My mother has been my greatest influencer, mentor and driving force behind starting my business. I was fortunate to have been raised by a woman who showed me that everything is possible. My mother was a household name in the community for 40 years, and I was always in awe of how she managed her time regardless of how many escrows she had.

What are your roadblocks in taking good care of yourself?

At the beginning of the year, I vowed that “2023 is for me.” I tend to overcommit and don’t always make time for self-care. I used to do yoga a few times a week, but over the last couple of years I haven’t made exercise a priority. My focus had shifted so much to work that I was neglecting physical activity. I recently returned to the yoga studio, and I am so invigorated. Having been an athlete my whole life, I am the best version of myself when I am exerting myself mentally and physically.

What local hot spots do you share with visitors from out of town?

Riviera Village holds a special place in my heart. There is an option for everybody, whether you’re dining, shopping or just want to enjoy the essence of what the South Bay has to offer.
