Sexton Homes has been a foundation in the South Bay for more than 70 years and started building custom, high-end residences in Redondo Beach back when the roads were still unpaved. Glenn Sexton, Sr. built a family home in the same city, where his son, Glen Sexton, founder of Sexton Homes, Inc., was born in 1937. The firm was established in 1995, and just two years later, at the young age of 17, Shaun Sexton designed the second Sexton Home on 31st Street in Manhattan Beach. Shaun became the third generation to be president of the company in 2008. Two of the firm’s largest completed projects include 2216 The Strand and 853 10th Street in Manhattan Beach. Currently the team is working oceanside on 3516 The Strand.
“I am inspired by both traditional architectural theory and world architectural influences. A home should be a relaxing environment, and so many of my designs are inspired by tourist destinations where people feel most tranquil.”
“Every day I search for new ways to bring a creative spin on design and building. My drive is to provide homeowners with something new and exciting, and a place where they can live knowing that they have a uniquely inspired home. The pay-off for me is exceeding my clients’ expectations.”
“Somewhere to escape the weather, while still including the elements of nature. After all, nature is true unique beauty that cannot be replicated.”
HOUSE TO HOME
“A basic shell of a home is not a comfortable place until the unique style of the homeowner influences the design to make it feel more like a home.”
