True Colors

From Malibu to the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the lifeguard towers of Santa Monica Bay will undergo a historic, one-of-a-kind transformation during peak season this summer.

From Malibu to the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the lifeguard towers of Santa Monica Bay will undergo a historic, one-of-a-kind transformation during peak season this summer.

With the help of local businesses, community leaders and citizens, this public art and civic initiative will paint 100 consecutive towers, spanning more than 30 miles of coastline, with dynamic vivid colors and designs. Portraits of Hope projects combine civic education and engagement with the visual and healing arts, providing youth and adults who often face medical, physical, or socio-economic challenges with an opportunity to collaborate on world-class projects and accomplish the spectacular. For more information on the project, visit portraitsofhope.org.
