We’ve Got Taste

Where 14 of the South Bay’s most familiar food folk eat and drink … off the clock.

Shell Game

Best Seafood Restaurant: Fishing with Dynamite

1148 Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan Beach, 310-893-6299, eatfwd.com

“To be honest, I consider this restaurant to be one of the best in Southern California. The menu is simple, focused and executed very well. And I love the oyster selection: Pacific Gold, Northern Cross, Rocky Reef, etc. The Hamachi dish is one of my favorites—the serrano gives it a slight spice, but the ponzu balances it so well. And seriously great halibut fish tacos too. Honestly, my husband and I love to host out-of-town friends there and get a bunch of plates for a ‘family-style’ dinner.”

“This tasty drink makes your mouth happy because of the balance: the sweetness from the ripe mango, the freshness from the cucumber and the kick from the jalapeño. It goes well with all of their dishes, and that underlying spice makes you wanna come back for more!”

Tacos auténticos (and a great cocktail list) make Día de Campo a real field day for fans in the South Bay.”
